Specially Selected Maple Bacon Pork Meatballs

Specially Selected Maple Bacon Pork Meatballs

Aldi is always coming out with the most innovative frozen foods! And, I always feel like I NEED to try them! I love bacon…so when I saw these meatballs were debuting a few weeks back, I knew I had to have them! Unfortunately, I did not find them in my store until recently. When I saw them, my heart skipped a beat and I grabbed these up quick!

I looked at the directions to prepare these on the package. But, I see these directions more as suggestions…LOL. I knew I wanted to make them on the stovetop. The directions state to cook them on the stovetop for 25 minutes with your favorite sauce. Well, I like my meatballs to have a bit of a crust on them…and, I knew I was using barbeque sauce with them and I didn’t want the sauce to burn. So, I got my calphalon saucepan out and got it really hot. Then, I threw the frozen meatballs in and let them develop a bit of a crust…shaking the pan every couple minutes.

Once they got a nice sear on all sides, I put about a quarter cup of water in the saucepan and covered it. This created steam to ensure the inside of the meatballs got nice and warm.

Once the water had evaporated from the pan, I added a bit of my favorite head and country barbeque sauce and tossed the meatballs in that for a bit. And, these were perfect! Such an easy and delicious meal option along with a salad. I can also see these being perfect as an appetizer while enjoying some libations.

So, get you some of these if you can still find them in your local Aldi. And, go subscribe to my YouTube channel! I post weekly videos of my favorite items Aldi is debuting each Sunday!
