Cinnamon Roll Waffles

Cinnamon Roll Waffles

This is probably my shortest and easiest recipe. And it combines two of my favorite things: cinnamon rolls and waffles!

I have never been a shopper. My mama LOVES to shop and we would spend the whole weekend at malls, garage sales, specialty stores and discount stores. THE. WHOLE. WEEKEND. I think she burned me out because I can’t stand shopping now. I get in and out as quickly as possible! But, one of my favorite memories from these mall shopping tortures was the smell of the cinnamon rolls baking from my favorite mall bakery.

Now, I haven’t had time to perfect my cinnamon roll recipe yet. But, the refrigerated tube cinnamon rolls are a good option for quick and easy breakfasts. And, they are cheap! The smell of these baking are reminiscent of the smells in the mall from years ago.

A few years ago, I bought a new waffle iron and started looking for different things to do with it. I kept seeing people put the refrigerated cinnamon rolls in the waffle iron and I knew I had to try it!

Like I said, this is a simple recipe. All you need is the tube of refrigerated cinnamon rolls, cooking spray and a waffle iron. That’s it!

First, turn on your waffle iron. While it is warming up,  you can remove the cinnamon rolls from the tube. For me, this is the hardest part. Anyone else worry about tube bursting and scaring you? Once they are open, separate each roll and flatten them to about half their thickness.

When the waffle iron is warm, spray each side of the roll and place it in your waffle iron. I have a small iron that only cooks one waffle at a time. I have found that placing the roll directly in the center of my smaller iron works best. If you have a larger one, you can make more at a time.

Once the waffle is done, I remove it and place the next into the waffle iron until all the waffles are done. The last thing I do is drizzle the glaze that comes with the cinnamon rolls on top of the waffles.

Y’all…these things are good! If you like the corners of the brownies, you’re gonna love these! They are crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside. And the glaze adds the perfect amount of sweetness and fits so perfectly into the grooves of the waffles.

It doesn’t matter if you make these for a quick breakfast for your family or for a much needed weekend brunch with friends, everyone will love these and wonder how long you spent making these delicious gems. I won’t tell them how easy these are…your secret is safe with me!

Ingredients:

1 tube refrigerated cinnamon rolls

Oil spray

Directions:

Preheat waffle iron. Open the can of cinnamon rolls and flatten the rolls to ½ their thickness. Once the waffle iron is warm, spray both sides of the dough, place the cinnamon roll in the center of the iron and cook for 2-4 minutes. Once the roll is cooked, remove it from the iron and replace it with the next roll making sure both sides of the dough are sprayed with oil. When all the rolls have cooked, top each waffle with the glaze that comes with the cinnamon rolls and enjoy!
