Fruit & Yogurt Bowl

Fruit & Yogurt Bowl

Most times, I do intermittent fasting. The rest of my family, of course, does not. I make breakfast for them each morning before work/school. But, I don’t eat breakfast until 9am. So, I am always looking for quick, easy and healthy options for breakfast.

This fruit and yogurt bowl has become a lifesaver and a time saver for me! It is easy, delicious and can be made with just about anything you have on hand in your fridge. It can even be made ahead (leaving some of the fruit out to cut and add to the yogurt later) to save more time you are ready to consume.

You can use your favorite Greek yogurt. I have used plain, honey, vanilla and maple vanilla. However, if you use plain, you will want to mix it with some extract (vanilla or almond) and a little local raw honey to give it a little flavor.

Any fruit will work with this dish. I suggest using the favorite seasonal fruit. I do always add a banana to my bowl. It adds some natural sweetness and will give you a boost of energy to start the day.

The last step is completely optional, but I always do it. I add a drizzle of local honey to the top of my bowl. I have at least one teaspoon of local honey daily. It helps add some flavor and sweetness to this dish. But, more importantly, it also helps keep my allergies under control! I love visiting my local honey farm and looking for new and different products they make using local honey. But, that’s another post for another day.

So, get you some yogurt, throw some fruit on top, drizzle a little honey on top and begin your day on a healthy note!

Ingredients (as pictured):

1 cup of Greek yogurt

1 banana, sliced

1/2 cup of grapes

1/4 cup of blueberries

Directions:

Spoon the yogurt into a single-serving bowl. Top the yogurt with the sliced banana, grapes and blueberries. Drizzle honey on top of yogurt (optional). Dip your spoon in your creation and take the perfect bite. Enjoy!
